1. Paul Cosmovici, Esq., LL.M. (Columbia)

Specialist in patent and copyright field, focusing on advertising and personal data issues.

Mr. Cosmovici, a Columbia University LL.M. graduate, has obtained an important patent experience, while working with an American patent attorney in Switzerland. He was also involved in Swiss, US and European trademark issues. Today, he is regularly dealing with patent, trademark and copyright protection, but also with cutting edge IT&C legal aspects.

Mr. Cosmovici has been advising clients in various fields including patenting process or patent infringement, trademark registration, trademark litigation, infringement or counterfeiting, several copyright issues including advertising, media and performers’ rights. Mr. Cosmovici is also ready to advise clients with respect to personal data protection, trade secrets and know how.

2. Alexander Popa, Esq.

Specialist in copyright and trademark issues, with a special focus on entertainment, music, and web casting fields.

For several years, Mr. Popa has acquired a wide ranging experience in copyright matters. His practice focuses, among others, on internet and media projects. He is also involved in several important IT & Telecom transactions, advising our clients on cutting-edge technical aspects, according to the permanently changing legal framework.

Mr. Popa is also a dedicated litigation expert, advising clients not only in relation with court actions, litigation strategies and in court protection of their rights, but also in what regards negotiation and mediation techniques, every time such alternatives represent a better position or deal for our clients.

3. Catalin Cocean, Esq.

Specialist in patent and trademark litigation.
Mr. Cocean has an accomplished expertise in the field of patent and trademark litigation. He advised important local and international clients with respect to the protection enforcement of rights. Today, Mr. Cocean is advising companies and individuals in connection with negotiations or litigation strategies.

4. John Moetteli, Esq.

Well known specialist in US and international patents and trademarks.
For about twelve years, John Moetteli has been a practicing patent practitioner/attorney-at-law, licensed before the US Patent Office--he's also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the District of Columbia Bar (Washington DC), as well as his home state bar. Further, he's a registered Professional Engineer, currently on inactive status.
Since 1997, Mr. Moetteli represented U.S., Swiss and European clients, working with Bugnion S.A. as well as other top Swiss firms. His specialty is mechanical, IT, software, and sports products. He is particularly specialized in preparing non-infringement, invalidity and unenforceability opinions on US patents, as well as preparing US and International patent and trademark applications.

5. Sherman D. Pernia, Esq., Ph.D.

Specialist in international patents and technology transfers.
He has experience working with academic departments and small businesses to identify programs or products embodying technologies ripe for commercial development and in the development and implementation of mechanisms for the protection, further R&D and commercialization of these properties.
His work has facilitated transferring technologies out of the laboratory and into the commercial arena, and has thus involved patenting, funding development, marketing and negotiating proprietary rights, joint ventures and preparing licensing agreements to commercialize proprietary technologies.

6. Our Specialists’ Network

Our work is enhanced by a network of carefully selected certified intellectual property counsellors and former patent and trademark examiners. Thus our team comprises an additional six members regularly involved in our projects. Some of these members have worked for about 25 years with the Romanian Patent and Trademark Office as patent examiners.

7. Our Staff

Two assistants with legal studies are helping us to manage the daily tasks. We cooperate at the same time with high standard translation offices, which help us in the dealing with foreign specialized documents we regularly receive from our clients.
